Baldi's Basics is an indie horror game that parodies 1990s educational games like Sonic's Schoolhouse. You play as a student collecting seven notebooks in a school while avoiding Baldi, a teacher who chases you with a ruler when you answer math questions wrong. Starting from the second notebook, the third question is intentionally unsolvable, making Baldi increasingly aggressive.
What is the difference between Baldi's Basics Classic and Baldi's Basics Plus?
Baldi's Basics Classic is the original free game released in 2018 with a fixed school layout. Baldi's Basics Plus is the expanded paid version with randomly generated maps, new characters, roguelike elements, random events like fog and floods, and multiple floors. Classic Remastered (2022) updated the original with a Demo mode that blends both versions.
How do you beat Baldi's Basics?
Collect all seven notebooks by solving math problems in classrooms, then find and reach all four school exits. After the seventh notebook, the school enters Final Mode where Baldi moves very fast. Use items like BSODA to push Baldi back, Zesty Bars for sprint stamina, and Safety Scissors to cut Playtime's jump rope. Keep moving and use doors to block Baldi's path.
Who are the characters in Baldi's Basics?
Key characters include Baldi (the ruler-wielding teacher), Principal of the Thing (sends you to detention for breaking rules), Playtime (forces you to jump rope), It's a Bully (blocks hallways demanding items), Gotta Sweep (the janitor's broom that sweeps you away), and Arts and Crafters (teleports you to Baldi in Final Mode).
